FAITHORN — Bethel June Carlson, 93, of Faithorn, handed away peacefully at her dwelling in Faithorn on Oct. 6, 2020, surrounded by her household.
She was born in Faithorn, on June 5, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Grace (Salzeider) Reid and lived virtually her whole life in Faithorn.
Bethel graduated from Norway Excessive College in 1945 and attended Northern State Regular College in Marquette, Mich. for trainer coaching.
She initially taught in a one room college home in Banat, Mich., then was a substitute trainer within the space for quite a lot of years. Later, Bethel was a Head Begin trainer for the Dickinson-Iron County Intermediate College District for 13 years.
She married Stanley “Slip” Carlson on the Faithorn Methodist Church on Dec. 28, 1948. They raised eight daughters, first in Vulcan, after which moved to a farm in Faithorn in 1963. He preceded her in dying on March 15, 2018.
Bethel beloved cooking, baking, gardening, canning and freezing the vegatables and fruits from their giant backyard on the beloved Carlson Farm.
After retirement, they loved touring the U.S., making their final cross-country journey in 2015, visiting household and associates in Iowa, Arizona, California, and Wyoming.
She was an energetic member of the Faithorn United Methodist Church, and a fixture on the church harvest suppers and vacation church auctions.
Bethel was an honorary life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the Order of the Japanese Star of Norway.
Bethel’s life was centered on caring for and loving her husband, daughters, grandchildren and nice grandchildren.
She was the storybook grandmother, at all times with a child or youngster on her lap, studying them a e-book, and a cookie jar stuffed with dwelling baked cookies.
Bethel shall be remembered as a beloved mom and mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and pal who gave unconditional like to these round her and acquired a lot love in return.
Bethel is survived by her eight daughters, Amy (John) Brendemihl, Grace (David) Gorringe, Mary Beth Carlson, Nancy Carlson, Lorraine (Tony) King, Martha (Alan Yoshimura) Carlson, Dee Dee (Jim) Keller, and Trudy (Michael) Stachowiak; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Kelly and Norma Fernhaber; sister-in-law, Vida Peters, and lots of pricey nieces, nephews, prolonged members of the family and associates.
Bethel was preceded in dying by her sister, Janice Reid Niemi, and brothers Douglas Reid and Laurence Reid.
Non-public household companies shall be held with interment on the Riverside Cemetery in Faithorn.
We’re blessed for the present of Bethel’s life and the numerous years we shared together with her.
