CHASSELL — George Henry Manninen, 91, died September 30, 2020, at Portage Pointe in Hancock, the place he had been a resident since 2018.

George was born March 26, 1929, in Tapiola, the seventh of eight youngsters of Ilmari and Flora (Kangas) Manninen. He grew up on the household farm on Otter Lake and graduated in 1947 from Doelle Excessive Faculty in Tapiola.

George was preceded in loss of life by his spouse and his dad and mom; and siblings, Ruth, Robert, Norman, Leah, Agnes, David, and James.

A graveside service in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton shall be scheduled later in October with Pastor Soren Schmidt officiating.
